SCAM AND FRAUDS
Investment Scams
In addition to claims related to regulated investments like stocks, shares, CFDs, and pensions, we can also assist with any other claims against entities that have misled you into making investments. This includes unregulated investments such as forex trading, cryptocurrencies, binary options, land, precious metals, carbon credits, and more. We often help our clients recover funds even when they are made to believe or have been told that the loss is their fault.
Financial Scams
Unfortunately, financial scams have become a prevalent issue in today’s digital world. If you’ve fallen victim to scams like purchase-related fraud or impersonation, we may be able to offer assistance in recovering your losses.
Push Payment Fraud
Be aware of various types of Authorised Push Payment (APP) Scams, including:
Insolvency/Escrow Scam
Scammers may contact you, claiming to be from an insolvency firm, and tell you that money owed to you is held in escrow. They will then request a 10% fee for releasing the funds. This is a scam, as legitimate insolvency firms or government bodies would never ask for such a fee.Mail Fraud
Fraudsters may send a text or email about a delayed parcel and ask you to pay a fee for expedited delivery. They may also call you, asking for authorization of payment over the phone. This could result in unauthorized withdrawals from your bank account shortly afterward.Lottery or Prize Scam
Scammers might contact you claiming you’ve won a lottery or prize. To claim it, you may be asked to provide personal and bank account details, leading to significant withdrawals from your account soon after.Mortgage Closure Scam
Homebuyers nearing the closing date of their mortgage may be targeted by scammers who impersonate settlement or estate agents, aiming to steal the closing funds.Debt Collection, Settlement, or Relief Scam
Fraudsters may contact you about outstanding debts, offering to settle or renegotiate on your behalf. They use pressure tactics to force you into making payments.Foreclosure Relief Scams
These scams involve fraudulent offers of assistance to prevent foreclosure, often asking for a fee or bank account details.Imposter Scams
Scammers impersonate someone you trust, like a family member, police officer, government employee, or charity organization, to convince you to send money.
